How to Get The Most Out of The Rest of Your Life

A Weekend in Wyoming Trey Ratcliff via Compfight

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that gratitude, and compassion cultivate a generous life.

It doesn’t matter what you have, what you don’t have, or who you are.

Gratitude expands us. It moves us into a place of abundance.

We may feel empty, naked and poor, but gratitude fills us, and clothes us, and makes us wealthy…brimming with life.

I started out my life as a Believer full of joy and ready to change the world. But then, slowly I became a Legalist. I was miserable and fell into a deep, deep depression.

I couldn’t get out until I allowed myself to feel truly grateful. And not just once, but for hours every day.

I had hardwired my brain into this straight jacket of rejection. I was miserable.  So I set out to rewire my brain to feel the joy of life again. It’s like they say, “What fires together, wires together.

So I hardwired joy into my life again.

Maybe you’ve suffered through it too.

So does your failure haunt you?

Well, life isn’t about what you have, or what you’ve accomplished. It isn’t even about missing the mark. Life is about what you give.   ~ Click to Tweet

Compassion brings us into a place of love, and acceptance, for ourselves and for others.

A smile will cost you nothing, but a warm generous smile can make someone else’s day, and maybe even their life.

We all hunger for love, and acceptance and belonging. We all want our lives to matter.

The way to get the most out of the rest of your life is to make gratitude and compassion the hallmarks of your life.

And you can take that to the bank. 🙂
